He points out that when he encounters patients he is aware of the fact that when they are in front of a surgeon there is a level fear and anxiety that patients feel, and in order to overcome that he wants to empower them with the knowledge of the disease they suffer from as well as the medical information in regards to the treatment process. About MVC

Metro Vein Centers were established by Dr. Ali Meslemani in 2006 in order to help patients who suffer from varicose veins. The organization ended up becoming a national leader in regards to treatment of varicose veins (and other venous conditions) and has a total of 12 offices nowadays, across 4 states: Texas, Michigan, New York, and New Jersey. Part of what makes the organization unique is the usage of leading-edge diagnostic and treatment options, such as endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. The procedures are both safe and painless, being covered by most insurance plans and requiring minimum downtime.

Varicose veins a serious threat?

While varicose veins may not pose a serious health threat at first, if they are not treated they can end up developing into a major health hazard. In the past, surgery was the main treatment for this condition, but nowadays there are a number of minimally invasive treatment options that vein centers offer. Varicose veins are forming when the veins themselves are too weak and they fail to push the blood back to the lungs and heart. At some point, blood ends up pooling in the vein, stretching them out of shape. The results are unsightly.

There are certain symptoms and risk factors one has to be aware of before going to the doctor. The list of symptoms includes swelling of the legs or ankles, leg cramps, itchy legs, weak legs, leg ulcers, and thickening of the skin on the legs and ankles that are changing color. Among risk factors, there is age, pregnancy, cancer, smoking, obesity, blood clots, muscle weakness, sitting or standing for long periods without moving, and/or a family history of venous insufficiency. The doctors at the MVC understand the difficulty that the condition poses, and they take pride in helping their patients regain confidence as well as their freedom to enjoy life at its fullest.
